The guide was professional and friendly. The tour of the Acropolis and museum was fascinating. The only negative was the title of the tour 'Athens City Half Day Tour', as it was not any kind of a city tour, really only the Acropolis.

Collected late at the hotel, changed buses amidst some confusion, transported to the Museum and left the bus. From there we walked to the Parthenon. The guide was good but had to explain in English and French - too long and time consumig. Perhaps just our bad luck but spoiled the day and not worth the money or effort.

The Athens city tour is more or less the Acropolis Hill and the Museum, seems there is nothing else to see in Athens.

You should inform people that there is strenuous walking up hills. I had to stop the tour because I wasn't told about walking up the hill to the acropolis,due to health problems.

Guide was not very good and there were hardly any stops and guide left us half way to acropolis to explore ourselves. You can better this one by having more stops as it is city tour so one can see whole city. Need to make this trip better. We felt we wasted money

As stated in my on board comments, we were excluded from use of the entire ship by virtue of the Japanese group that monopolized all of the air conditioned area. Audio on the outside decks was horrible. We couldn't hear a thing you broadcasted. Lunch at best was fair. Overcooked meat. Cruise director was less than friendly when asked questions. The island were beautiful and we enjoyed them for the time we spent on them. Sorry for the poor rating, but you did ask for honesty. Len Timpone

I find these hop-on and hop-off tours the most convenient way of seeing and doing more at one own pace. I have been using its services in Peth, New York, Washington, Hollywood / Los Angeles and Shanghai before Athens. Will definitely use its services again for all my other holidays if I don't resort to package tours.

This is a very cheap way to sight see Athens. You can get on & off at any of the interesting spots. I also booked the Morning City tour with a different company for 3 times as much money, which was an absolute waste of money, and we didn't get to see half of what we saw on this hop on Hop off tour. Really enjoyed this tour and you can reach & pick off oranges on the trees you pass by. (which I didn't do). This tour is an absolute bargain and the way to see Athens.

This was my 2nd trip with City Discovery on my recent trip to Athens. Compared to my other one this was disappointing. The coach allocated was an old grey rattler, air-conditioning didn't work properly and the driver turned it off whenever we stopped so took longer to get going when were on the move. The tour guide was not interested and it didn't help the mike didn't work too well. The drive was beautiful. Delphi was amazing, the site is so wonderful. The guide got us in, gave us a few instructions then left us, (I think she wanted to get out of the heat, it was HOT). Next onto the musuem, this was an excellent musuem and the guide came into her own. Very knowledgable. Lunch was disappointing. A piece of cheese pie, followed by cold roast pork warmed in gravy, chips and Greek coleslaw with a puddle of olive oil at bottom. The dessert was yogurt with almond scented honey, most people pushed it away in disgust but I enjoyed it. We had a comfort stop on way back in a motorway services. The air-conditioning wasn't working, the staff were surly, probably because they were wilting in the heat. I loved Delphi but did not really enjoy the trip

I was very disappointed with this trip. We had to be ready to be picked up at our hotel at 07.30am and coach we were in took 1&1/2 hours to literally drive around the block to pick up other guests. It would have been much better for everyone to meet at Syntagma square at a particular time. We had a split group of French and English speaking guests. It was very difficult for the tour leader to continually speak French then English during the whole trip. It did not have any flow and I really did not have a clue to the history of Delphi etc. Whe whole trip took 11 hours there and back but we were only at Delphi for about 2 hours. It was not long enough time there. especially when we had to wait each time for the tour leader to repeat each time to the group in each language. I did a trip to Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius last year through city discovery and it was excellent. The tour group had to meet in the morning at a pick up point so we got going straight away. Our tour leader was fluent in English and so informative and passionate about telling us the history of Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius. I dont recommend a split language tour group at all. It was very disappointing. I dont blame the tour leader, she was exhausted trying to give everyone information, but it didnt work very well.

The three islands are almost all the same and in general there is nothing to do there but walk on the pier and shop souvenirs. But if you haven't seen any of Greek islands - go on that trip and you will have enough.

tour company very pushy about getting passengers onto the bus tour at aegina when in fact there is a swimming lagoon next to the dock which the hostess failed to mention in fact she kept emphasising that there was very little to do at aegina and everyone should go on the tour of the island for 20 euro and also visit the pistachio farm and but some pistachios

The greek restaurant was fantastic, with the live dancing and lively atomsphere. One thing i found was that it took to long to pick up all the people taking this tour, which meant we spent alot of time on the bus.

Day did not start well, got my trips muddled up but no problems, all sorted. The coach was lovely, modern and the air-conditioning was fantastic. Our guide was a lovely girl called Dimitria and driver was Thenis. On the way out of Athens, Dimitria kept filling us in on different buildings, sites we were passing. 1st stop was the Corinth Canal, photo oppurtunity and comfort stop. Next was Agamemmnon's Acropolis. I groaned when I saw it as I had climbed so much in the previous days but I did it and it was fantastic. The musuem I sat out, it was all reproductions as the artefacts had been transferred the the National Archaeological Musuem in Athens. Next was lunch, this was delightful. A little Mousaka, followed by a choice of chicken souvlakia or spit roast lamb, served with fresh cut chips and Greek salad. Finishing off with local grown cherries. Water was included, anything else was extra. Next was Agammenon's tomb. This is AMAZING. How they built it baffled us all, the lintel was 120tons on it's own. A stop with a little free time in the ancient capital of Napflion. Beautiful seaside town, the architecture was amazing. Waiting for the coach we were surrounded by gypsy children so had to watch our bags and pockets. The climax was Epidarius, this place is a wonder. Dimitria showed off the acoustics, finishing off with a slight dig at the people who were late back at Napflion which gave us a giggle. Another comfort stop and home. A thoroughly enjoyable day and I had a grin ear from ear.

It was a very good tour. The guide talked a lot about all the important historical information associated with the sites. It is the best way to see both Mycenae and Epidaurus in one day even if you are not into guided tours. The tour does stop at a tourist/gift shop at the end for those who like to purchase such items.

The guides were full of interesting information and really helped to evoke the atmosphere of these ancient places in their heyday (especially Ellfi at Delphi). Meteora is breathtaking - photos don't really capture the scale of the place.

It was a wonderful tour, even on a stormy day. I got directed by my hotel to the wrong bus. They took me to the Cape. I was told that to get back to my hotel, I had to come back with the correct bus and leave my friends on the bus I traveled there on. Even though there was a mix up, the staff of both buses were incredibly apologetic and friendly. If I could recommend anything, it would be more information about Greece given by the tour guide. Ex: how Greek mythology began, why most Greeks don't subscribe to that any longer and are Orthodox and why/when/how the change between the beliefs. I didn't hear that on any of my many tours while I was in Greece for a week and am still wondering.

Following the ocean road to this site is a sensational and relaxing drive - a must do for anyone wanting to get out of Athens and see the beauty of the coastal region. This was a very slow-paced trip, perfect to sit back and just enjoy the stunning scenery. The visit to the site isn't very long, but it's long enough as it's not large. There are breathtaking views over the sea - we only wish we'd been able to stay till sunset. The guide, Effie, was friendly and informative. This was a perfect way to spend an afternoon!

THe sight was amazing. Well worth the horrible bus drive from the crazy bus driver... was such a horrible ride it made my husband physically ill, we had to get off early on the ride home so he could be sick it was THAT BAD. However, unless you plan to rent a car to get out there it's something to have to suffer through to see this beautiful view.

To begin with, it is very much to your credit that you provide this opportunity to those making use of your services. Other than a somewhat unnerving waiting in the bus for some people who would presumably join the tour (and finally never did), this was an interesting tour and i would definitely recommend it. I only think one has to allow for a bit more time at the actual site, as 40 minutes is too little, especially if after spending say half an hour around the Temple, one feels like sitting down for a while to have a soft drink or a little snack at the nearby restaurant. Also, the whole thing can be made to be a lot more attractive if the tour is timed in a way that would include the spectacular Cape Sounion sunset (which i have seen in pictures). I was a single traveller so booked this partly got safety reasons and of course to see the sights.I am glad I did. It was well worth it but because the trip was covering big distance you do get tired.it also seemed we only visited sights in morning and rest of day spent on coach going to next place.hotels were good standard also food at hotels good.guide was informative but not very friendly this could just be culture difference though.I enjoyed the trip saw what I wanted to places visited were fantastic but would have liked more time at Delphi also would have liked a visit to old Corinth not just the canal.

Was a great tour. Our tour guide and driver were great. I did feel we got a little too much commentary on the ancient sites, especially within the museums. If one was studying for an exam, then such detail may have been appropriate. I think tour guides need to be sensitive to the needs of tourists and not indulgde in their passion to exhibit knowledge which is no bad thing, in context! Perhaps not so much driving in one go, so we get to stretch our legs a bit more. Hotels, I would not have classed as 5 star. I would have expected we be given some choice on food locations rather than go to places which were way too expensive, were large meals for lunch, given we had paid for 3 course meal dinner. Perhaps some flkexibility in the meals. If we have a heavy lunch, then the option to have a lighter dinner as opposed to a 3 course meal already paid for.
