Andrew G., Australia
This tour was terrific and one I would strongly recommend. My wife and I did this tour on our first full day in Bangkok, and we were not disappointed! Our tour guide, Katie, was waiting for us in the hotel lift lobby with the tour driver on departure - very organised, very professional and very friendly. Katie was outstanding, she provided very clear explanations on all sites and her very warm, friendly demeanour made for an overall great experience. I just returned from Thailand and have this experience as a main highlight.

Catherine R., Australia
We had a knowledgeable guide who had a good sense of humour. He was also very good at manoeuvring us through crowds to obtain better vantage points.

Tawna E., USA
This is a must see tour in Bangkok. The guide was very knowledgable, friendly, courteous, etc. I learned so much from him...and we spent the right amount of time at each exhibit. I was a single traveler and he was more than willing to take pictures of me and the sights!

caroline B., United Kingdom
Very informative guide who spoke very good English. Very organised and good amount of time at each location to explore. We booked the floating market trip with our guide because of these two reasons. We did not expect to go to a jewellery shop before being dropped off at our hotel. Although this was interesting it stalled our timely return it put a damper on the trip.

Jane R., United Kingdom
We booked this tour as we only had one day in Bangkok and wanted to see as much as possible. We were not disappointed. The minibus arrived on time and there was 5 of us all together so a small friendly group. The tour guide was lovely and full of amusing stories. There was a lot to see in the time and if you wanted a more in-depth information this may not be for you but was ideal for us.

Lena S., Indonesia
Well organised and full informative for the place. Perfect for tourist

Melissa F.,
An enjoyable day with a very nice guide who gave a lot of useful detail. The tour ran smoothly. The Gem factory at the end was a surprise as it wasn't advertised in the tour, but I guess that is to be expected in Bangkok. It did not detract from the tour and I would recommend this tour.

Betty M., Indonesia
What the most I like from this half day tour is that the tour leader was a very kind person. He told us the historical information regarding the places we have visited. I think all temples and palace would be just an ordinary place if we do not know the story behind. And Mr. Pasith Kasuya, with his pleasant personality, as our tour leader can provide this information and made this tour is a memorable one for me and my husband.

Yvonne L., United Kingdom
Our Tour Guide introduced us to our fellow travellers, was a people person who imparted her excellent knoweledge in a respectful way. The sites were truly amazing. There was so much to take in but this is the backbone of Bangkok life. She shared local food with us as she wanted us to really 'taste' the city. An excellent Tour.

binit S., USA
The tour was nice and showed a number of temples in the city.Overall it was nice though a bit long for a half day (7am until 2pm). The guide was excellent though there was no explanation of why there were so many temples in the city.

Halbtag Grosser Palast & Wat Phra Kaeo

Nicolas S., USA
The staff are accommodating and very helpful. The groups are small and guides know all the local staff in all of the places we visted, which is a positive in my book. While taking this tour, we often encountered other tours where guides weren't as helpful, another positive.

Gloria L., Korea, Republic Of
The tour was ok. However, it would have been great if we could of heard more about the history! Also, the gemstone factory these tour places take you to, should be eliminated! They are way over priced and feels like you are being pushed to buy these over priced jewels. It should be a choice and not on the interary. Especiallly, after not wanting to look around or buy anything, you have to wait for a different bus to come pick you up to get dropped back off to your hotel. It was a waste of 90 minutes and we missed the lunch special.

Mogens B., Denmark
The guide was more than you can expect. She told us many interesting thing about the country, the kingdom, and the way of thai life.A very nice person, and she took good care of us, and was helpfull arranging a canal tour in long tail boat after the grand palace. We can only recomment this City discovery

Christina C., Australia
I recommend visiting the Grand Palace but not with the tour guide I had take us. The tour guide was very poor and did not make my day very enjoyable at all. We were yelled at if he thought we were not listening or not following him which was scary and other tour groups would stop and look at us while he was yelling loudly. At first we thought he was joking but he was very serious. He forbid us to talk to other guides for information when he would not accompany us into temples ect so I feel I did not get an informative tour. Our whole group were very concerned and told him we did not want to continue with the tour and to take us back to the hotel and he became very angry and refused and told us to take taxi's if we wanted to leave. At the end of the tour we were taken to a Gem and Jewelry shop which we had heard was a scam as they try to get commission from sales. It was not on our itinerary and none of our group wanted to go so we ask him to drop us off at our Hotels as stated in our itinerary. He refused, left us there anyway and told us we would have to find another way back with other buses to our Hotel. I was traveling alone in a country I had never been and felt very anxious & scared about finding my way back alone when I was told the tour guide would drop me off at my Hotel after our tour of Grand Palace. I would recommend visiting the Grand Palace but I would not recommend this tour company to anyone!!!

Laura R., USA
We had a personal guide who took us around - very good.

Ann S., United Kingdom
Superb day, well organised could not fault it, highly recommend bit.

Guide was informative. The drive to the venue was educational.Grand Palace & temple was superb! The jewellery stop at the end was unneccesary.

Interesting and informative with excellent ljunch.

DIANE C., Canada

Dawn S., USA
This tour combined a number of must do activities in Thailand, but what made the tour exceptional, was the guide Chart (I am not sure of the spelling of his name). First of all, the fact that he spoke English was refreshing because few of the countryman do. More importantly, he was attentive to every tour attendees' needs and made his mission to fulfill them. If you want to explore several different Thai traditions, take this tour.

Gertrude H., Austria
Great tour, worth leaving the hotel around 6 a.m. Our tourguide was fantastic- he told us a lot about Thai culture. The floating market and the boat ride were very good.

Rodney C., Australia
This tour was fantastic and well worth it. Our tour guide Ricky was also fantastic.Rose Garden was good and the lunch there was Great. I also had Ricky on a tour to Bridge over River Kwai, another great day

adam H., Australia
I totally enjoyed the exsperience...The floating markets was fantastic and the boat ride was great...All up the back canals to the markets..And the rose gardens culturel show was a great thailand exsperience of the culture.

ADELAIDE C., Italy
giornata bellissima, e conosciuto Maria, una guida speciale, preparata, cordiale e deliziosa.

Federica P., Italy

DR.VEERAN T., United Arab Emirates
Both the tours were excellent. They were very well organized and on time. The tour guides were very courteous, friendly and took good care of us and guided us with efficiency. As usual, booking the tours with City Discovery assured us that we were guranteed of quality and reliable services. The bookings were easy and efficient.

Tempel Ausflug

DIANE C., Canada
Visite privée avec un guide parlant français. Très intéressant mais j'aurais voulu plus d'informations et une carte de la ville pour situer les temples.

elwira K., United Kingdom
Well organised trip. Full of intersting and great temples. Unfortunatly it was raining so got wet on the way but that didn't stop us from having increable time as the temples are so different to the church buildings in Europe. our kids were amazed and were taking pictures, asking lots of questions. our tour guide was rushing so to be honest we ignored him and took time inside temples. Tip: if you can travel during Songkran Festival the life in temples are much more busy, full of locals and the city itself is quieter so you feel the atmosfer of calmness and joy!. As you may know, Bangkok is full of temple, after a while is just too much. so this trip is perfect as it covers few the most important temples.

Julio U., Spain
The tour is beautiful, but the guide Mr. Marco (I dón't remember the last name) doesn't speak spanish. He knows some words, but he should not be a spanish guide. I've tried to speak english with him, but he didn't speak english too. .. And his bussiness card says English and spanish interpreter ¡¡¡¡

Trish C., Australia
The tour operator was wonderful.

Walter V., Belgium
I appreciated the punctuality of the organisation very much, including several confirmations beforehand etc. It seems to me that the personality of the specific guide was an important element in this watertight approach. Best wishes, Walter van Waterschoot

Duncan R., United Kingdom
A really good trip with a mix of ruined and in use temples. Then the palace which is a great place to wander around. The river cruise was excellant with real good food

Eric H., United Kingdom
Thought the meal on the cruise was rather poor, and certainly the heated food was served very cold..However, the tour guide was excellent and the placves visited interesting.

Angela A., United Kingdom
the tour was very good the lunch on board the boat was also excellent . good value for the money definitely would recommend it

Anthony D., Australia
Basically the tour was good and interesting. However, I felt the comments of the guide were simply too superficial. We got very little background or serious explanation about the history and archeology of Ayutthya and were treated, I felt, like simple-minded children.

Jessica H., Germany
This trip was the highlight of my time in Bangkok. The tour guide, Donna, was wonderful, knowledgeable, and always ready to snap individual pictures for everyone in the group whenever there was a good photo opportunity. It was wonderful to get outside of Bangkok for a day and take in some of the countryside. I was picked up on time from my hotel, and we were bused to the central meeting point where we met the coach. The trip up by coach was relaxing and comfortable (and the driver was non-terrifying, which is always a plus in Bangkok!). We stopped first at the summer palace, then at Ayutthaya ruins, then another temple, and finally at the huge reclining Buddha, where we also went to a small local market, before traveling to board our boat back to the city. The short stop at the small market was actually welcome, as the prices were reasonable, and it was nice to relax for a little bit with a fresh coconut. There was free water in glasses with the buffet dinner on board, no bottled water offered elsewhere, but it was easy enough to buy at most of the stops (for ~10 Baht). The tour did offer iced towels which was very refreshing in the heat. I was also pleased that they offered a choice of three different vegetarian meals to the vegetarians, so you didn't have to pick and choose your way through the buffet. Donna also personally showed me what items were vegetarian on the buffet. Overall, excellent value for the money, and a wonderful tour. Highly recommended.

Yvonne L., United Kingdom
Our Tour Guide was excellent and made the day. He introduced us to our fellow travellers, explaining things of interest on the way, cared for our needs and was humorous. The tour was a lovely mixture of ancient and modern. Lunch on board was excellent and the cruise back to Bangkok was so relaxing. Yvonne L UK

Rebecca J., USA
The trip was very organized, and I was picked up as expected from my hotel. The guide was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I appreciated that we were given time at each location to explore on our own. Drinks are not provided, so be sure to start the trip with at least one bottle of water.

nartarshia S., Australia
beautiful - great day, lovely cruise and food and great acnient ruins. very knoweldgable and fun tour guide

Amanda D., USA
The tour was very good and I enjoyed the guide. He was funny and knowledgeable. One thing I noted was the lack of water. I have never before been on a tour where water was not included. Generally guides give you water when you get on the bus and then another with dinner at the very least. I was quite suprised when I had to pay 120 baht for a bottle of water with my meal. It would not have bothered me to pay a bit more for the tour but I was very annoyed to have to pay for such a basic need while on tour (and particularly with my meal). Thank you.

We had a great time on this tour. It was a long trip but well worth the effort. The guide was really friendly and very informative. Couldn't fault it.

Ian M., United Kingdom
Fantastic trip-outstanding value for money. Trip is a full day excursion from 6.15 am to 8.00 pm but with time to see all of the points of interest. Highly recommended with a great lunch.

Diego R., Spain
Very nice trip and well organised. It is really worthy, the view, things to see, the lunch, it was ok.

JOHN F., United Kingdom
We know that time was very limited, given the travelling to & from Bangkok, however perhaps a little more time to see the museum & cemetary would be good. Apart from that, an excellent tour! Many thanks!

Gertrude H., Austria
Very interesting tour to the north of Thailand. Background information is provided about the region's history. Very friendly and attentive staff.

Anthony G., Australia
Enjoyed the day immensley. Both driver and guide were easy going, friendly and professional with plenty of time to do the looking around. Only video taken. Thanks again guys, but perhaps make it a little cooler next time. (Joking)

FABIO T., Italy
The guide was excellent and competent. The tour very interesting and emotional, and on the train we had dreamy landscapes; the journey of 90 mins has flown .... I got more than I expected! Next tour with your organization. Thanks!

Brian D., Australia
Guide was excellent and was able to tell us quite a bit about Thai culture as well. It is a pity the train trip is for so long but I can understand given that it ends at some of the more original structures. The return trip ending in a traffic jam was a negative.

Jennifer W., Australia
I really enjoyed the tour to the River Kwai, enjoyed the boat ride to the bridge, walking over the bridge and also loved the Death Railway ride. The old train went fast. The Museum and Cemetery were both very interesting - I wish I had had more time at them. Overall, I would love to do the tour again and discover more things. The lunch at the lovely restaurant was really special also. We also travelled throughout the day in a large comfortable coach with air conditioning. Thankyou very much.

Klong Ausflug durch die Thonburi Klongs

Jessica H., Germany
I have mixed feelings about this tour. The good: - This tour did not offer pickup from my hotel, but CityDiscovery gave great directions as to alternative pickup points and means of transport to them, so I was still able to join after a ride on the Metro. -The bonus visit to Wat Arun was nice. -I greatly enjoyed the trip through the canals to see some of the more rural living conditions. The bad: -Roughly half of the tour time (when including driving there) was dedicated to taking our group to a jewelry shop!!! This was not appreciated by anyone in our small group. We were driven there, given a free welcome soda, and then shuttled to watch a 10 minute movie (with about 1 minute of actually interesting information about the gem mining process). We then were made to walk through the jewelry display cases. While the sales agents made it clear that we did not have to buy anything, it was just for advertising, it was still an unwelcome use of our vacation time and not appreciated. When we were finished browsing (probably ahead of schedule) we again had to wait for our tour guide to be called back. - The tour guide, while friendly, was not very good. She provided basic information, but was not very good with answering questions, and left us to wonder around Wat Arun by ourselves. Neither did she explain anything we saw during the canal tour. While this would have been hard to do with the boat in motion, a few stops here and there with some short explanations of what we were seeing would have been appreciated. Overall: -The canals and Wat Arun are well worth the visit, but I did not at all appreciate the extra use of my vacation time, and I don't feel that the tour guide added much, if anything, to the experience.

garry T., Australia
because the gates were closed we couldnt go up the canals. so we just went up the river and back. so it was a bit of a fizzer. but that wasnot your fault.

Erik H., Norway
Higly recommended tour! We were picked up e exactly on time. Excellent english speaking guide. Especially the boat tour was great. A very nice way of exploring Bangkok. A stop at a jewlery shop was unnecessary, but I guess it's hard to find any tour that doesn't include something like that in the end.

Benjamin W., USA
It was a wonderfull three days. We loved every minute we were there. We did not have rafting as per the itinerary. The tour company said it was not included. We were taken to the second hotel by boat and not by raft. We are not complaining as the rest of the tour was excellent. The Elephant ride was fun and staying in a room with no electricity and a net over our bed was exciting for us. The service was great and the food terrific. Our tour guide stayed with us the whole three days and was excellent. She had a nice way of explaining everything to us. Thanks for having this trip available for people to enjoy. Ben Weissbach
